DJI Ronin 2 is a powered camera stabilization gimbal for handheld, vehicle-mounted, aerial, jib and cable-camera installations. Its three-axis architecture combines an independent IMU, a DJI 32-bit ARM processor, dedicated servo electronics and built-in GPS. A slip ring transfers power and video signals. The supplied handheld ring incorporates retractable feet to support the system on level ground, and the ring’s lower half can be removed. Standard equipment also includes a compact remote controller operating on 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz.
Camera integration requires attention to both the 13.6 kg (30 lb) reference payload and the installation envelope: up to 250 mm horizontally from the mounting-base center to the roll axis, 190 mm camera width and 170 mm height. Accessory power outputs support connected equipment, while camera parameter and shutter control apply to specific camera models. Dual batteries support alternating replacement without restarting powered equipment. Runtime is 8 hours for the gimbal, or approximately 2.5 hours when simultaneously powering the gimbal, a RED Dragon and accessories. First-generation Ronin batteries are incompatible.
