Product overview

The DJI O3 Air Unit provides aircraft-mounted imaging and video transmission through an air unit module, a separate camera linked by coaxial cable, and an antenna. It requires installation on a host aircraft. The module measures 32.5 × 30.5 × 14.5 mm, and the camera measures 21.2 × 20 × 19.5 mm. Cable lengths are 115 mm for the coaxial connection and 100 mm for the three-in-one connection; the antenna is 85 mm long. The air unit weighs approximately 36.4 g with its camera, with the approximately 3 g antenna listed separately.

The camera combines a 1/1.7-inch sensor with 48 million effective pixels and an f/2.8 fixed-focus lens covering a 155° field of view. Its focus range extends from 0.6 m to infinity. Recording options include 4K, 2.7K and 1080p at 30/50/60/100/120fps, with MP4 recording and RockSteady electronic stabilization. Compatible goggles are DJI Goggles 3, Goggles Integra, Goggles 2 and FPV Goggles V2. The first three offer 1080p/100fps transmission with latency as low as 30 ms; V2 offers 810p/120fps below 28 ms, measured outdoors in open conditions without interference.

Installation starts by plugging or soldering the three-in-one cable to the flight controller, followed by securing the air unit, arranging the camera cable, mounting the camera and securing the antenna. Flight controller pin order can vary, so wiring order must be checked before connection. The camera has four mounting screws and 2 mm threaded holes; excessive insertion can damage its circuitry or ribbon cables. Input voltage is 7.4–26.4 V, operating temperature is -10°C to 40°C, and supported flight controller firmware is Betaflight 4.3.0 or later. The unit accepts microSD cards up to 256GB.

Maximum video transmission distance is 10 km under FCC, 2 km under CE and 6 km under SRRC standards. These distances apply to one-way flights without return in open outdoor environments without interference. The 2.400–2.4835 GHz band receives signals only, while 5.725–5.850 GHz supports reception and transmission; some countries or regions do not support the 5.8 GHz band. Automatic and manual channel selection are supported. DJI FPV Remote Controllers 3 and 2 are compatible, and pairing with DJI Goggles 2 enables spectator viewing through multiple goggles.
