DJI Lightbridge 2 combines HD video transmission with a ground unit that integrates remote-control functions. Its physical architecture comprises an air unit measuring 68 x 48 x 21 mm and weighing 70 g, excluding antennas, and a ground unit measuring 182 x 167 x 104 mm and weighing 810 g. The ground unit incorporates a rechargeable battery and a mobile-device holder. Supported equipment includes A3, A2, N3 and WooKong-M flight controllers, the listed DJI HD gimbals, and S1000+, S1000, S900, S800 EVO, F550 and F450 flight platforms.
The air unit operates at 9–12 V and draws 650 mA at 12 V. When a DJI Lightbridge connection cable supplies power to DJI Lightbridge 2, the supply must be 3S. The powered AV input requires care to avoid short circuits during installation and use. AV and HDMI inputs accept the specified video formats, while the ground unit offers HDMI, SDI and USB outputs. USB can operate alongside either HDMI or SDI; HDMI and SDI cannot output simultaneously, and the desired output is selected in DJI GO.
Maximum communication distance is 5000 m in FCC mode or 3500 m in CE mode, without interference or obstructions. Both units operate from -10° to 40° C, and ground unit charging requires 0° to 40° C. The built-in ground battery provides four hours of normal use. Its holder accepts an iPad Air or similarly sized device with a height no greater than 170 mm. Other-brand remote-control equipment is unsupported, as are Inspire 1 and communication with first-generation DJI Lightbridge.
