Product overview
The CUAV C-Compass Electronic Compass is an external magnetometer for unmanned systems using PX4 or ArduPilot. It incorporates an automotive-grade RM3100 sensor with low noise, low temperature drift and high resolution, and supports DroneCAN/UAVCAN communication. Its external mounting arrangement and magnetic filtering algorithm are designed to reduce the influence of interference from onboard cables, batteries and motors on heading measurements. The module uses CUAV's self-developed M4C software architecture and requires controller parameters to be configured for the firmware in use.
The C-Compass has an aluminum-alloy housing and weighs 13 g, with a GHR-04V-S connector. Its specified operating voltage is 4.75–5.3 V, its operating temperature range is -20 to 80°C, and its operating humidity range is 5%–95%, non-condensing. Installation calls for securing the module to the airframe with M2 screws in a location away from motors, electronic speed controllers, batteries and other high-power equipment. This placement is part of reducing magnetic interference during operation.
