Product overview

The BWSENSING IMU500C combines gyroscope and accelerometer sensing in a packaged inertial measurement unit measuring 60 mm long, 59 mm wide and 29 mm high. Its applications include unmanned aircraft, unmanned vessels, underwater robots, platform stabilization and other robotic or vehicle systems. For integration planning, the enclosure dimensions define the sensor’s physical space requirement, while selectable RS232, RS485 or TTL output provides an interface choice. Sampling frequency reaches up to 500 Hz, with dynamic and orthogonality compensation.

The gyroscope measures angular rates within ±400°/sec at a resolution of 0.01°/sec, while the accelerometer covers ±3.6 g on the X, Y and Z axes with 0.01 mg resolution. Temperature compensation accompanies a stated range of -40 °C to +85 °C. Bias stability depends on the measurement conditions: gyroscope figures distinguish room-temperature and full-temperature operation, and accelerometer figures apply at 25 °C. Both sensors have separate stability values for 100-second and 10-second intervals, which must remain associated with their respective specifications.
