Company overview
Tianmushan Laboratory is a Zhejiang provincial aviation laboratory established with support from Beihang University and its Hangzhou International Innovation Institute. Its two main research areas are advanced aviation technology and high-performance aviation materials. Work within these areas addresses aircraft design, advanced propulsion, aviation materials and onboard chips, connecting fundamental aviation research with the development of key technologies. Established in June 2022, the laboratory also supports the transfer of research results into applications and the development of emerging aviation industries.
The laboratory is based in Hangzhou's Yuhang District, Zhejiang, China.
Tianmushan One is a hydrogen-powered multirotor drone developed by the laboratory and transferred into application. Its design combines an independently developed hydrogen fuel-cell power system, a lightweight carbon-fiber airframe and an integrated parachute system. The laboratory reports demonstration applications in oil and gas, electric power and forestry. It identifies continuous long-distance operations and cold northern conditions as particular areas of use, linking the aircraft's development to sustained industrial drone operations.
At the Third Global Digital Trade Expo, the laboratory presented Tianmushan Three, a hybrid cargo drone demonstrator, and Tianmushan Four, an inter-island logistics seaplane drone demonstrator. Their demonstrator status distinguishes these development aircraft from established operational services.
Tianmushan Three was independently developed by the laboratory for low-altitude aviation and future green aviation needs. Its documented potential civilian applications include logistics transport and emergency rescue.
The laboratory's hardware work also includes Tianmushan Six, a drone autonomous-operation system developed and transferred into application. It combines a multimodal-model-driven decision system with edge and terminal computing equipment. An onboard command-and-control box provides a hardware module above the drone's flight-control layer. The system is designed to support autonomous task execution, connecting model-based decision-making with onboard computing rather than relying solely on preprogrammed commands or direct pilot control.
