Jiangsu Hengshen manufactures carbon fibre, composite materials and structural components in Danyang, Jiangsu, China. Established in August 2007, the company combines production with design, research and development, sales and technical application services. Its material range extends from carbon fibre precursors and sizing agents to fabrics, liquid resins, adhesives and prepregs, while its component business includes carbon fibre composite parts and aviation structures. Civilian applications include civil aviation, renewable energy, rail transport, marine engineering, construction machinery, and sports and leisure equipment. Services cover material selection, application design, product development, manufacturing and joint development with customers.
The carbon fibre portfolio includes the high-strength HF20 series at T300 grade, HF30 at T700 grade, HF40 at T800 grade and HF50 at T1000 grade, together with the high-strength, high-modulus HM series. Available fibre specifications include 1K, 3K, 6K, 12K, 24K and 50K. Hengshen has also developed lower-cost prepregs for autoclave, out-of-autoclave and rapid compression moulding processes. Its T800-grade, intermediate-temperature prepreg was developed to support structural weight reduction in domestic eVTOL applications where limited endurance creates demand for lighter materials.
Hengshen's drone business includes composite structural design and component development. By July 2024, its dedicated drone business line had completed development and delivery of complete aircraft structures for a six-rotor eVTOL and a ducted six-rotor drone. At that time, several 3-tonne-class drone projects for logistics and export, along with several 1.5-tonne-class ducted rotor drone projects, remained in design and development. This work connects Hengshen's materials range with aircraft structural requirements, with reducing airframe weight and supporting greater payload and endurance identified as development goals.
