Hybo (fujian) New Material Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in 2012 in the Quanzhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Fujian, China. It specializes in polymethacrylimide (PMI) foam and special lightweight materials, supplying foam and related products for composite core applications. PMI foam applications span aerospace, 5G communications, consumer electronics, high-speed trains, ships, sports equipment and medical devices. Consumer electronics uses include mobile phone diaphragms, tablet keyboards and audio equipment.
Its HyboFOAM® A is a halogen-free, closed-cell rigid PMI foam offered in conventional and HT series, distinguished by their heat treatments. The HT series provides better resistance to creep at high temperatures. Intended structural applications include high-grade composite components for aircraft, aerospace and launch vehicles, and drones. The foam is available in white with dimensions of 2500 × 1250 mm, and its manufacture meets COMAC material specification CMS-CP-403.
Depending on density, HyboFOAM® A can withstand curing temperatures up to 180°C and pressures up to 0.7 MPa. Supported processing methods include autoclave curing, vacuum bagging, RTM, VARTM, VARI and HP-RTM. The material can also be thermoformed, bonded with adhesives and CNC-machined to accommodate different component dimensions and geometries. Alongside foam material, Hybo supplies high-precision preformed or ready-to-use foam cores in simple or complex shapes for composite component production.
