Product overview
The Times Starlight Zhanlang D55 is a hybrid fuel-electric VTOL fixed-wing UAV for large-area mapping, long-distance reconnaissance and emergency supply delivery. Four lift rotors handle vertical takeoff and landing without a runway, while a fuel-powered rear pusher provides propulsion in level flight. Its integrally molded carbon-fiber airframe combines a rear-mounted engine, twin tail booms and an inverted-V tail. The aircraft spans 5400 mm and measures 3000 mm in fuselage length, each with a stated tolerance of ±5 mm.
Modular construction supports rapid assembly and disassembly for transport. Avionics occupy the central wing section, leaving an independent 350 × 200 × 130 mm payload compartment for mission equipment. Maximum takeoff weight is 100 kg, and the 45 kg maximum effective payload includes fuel; tank capacity is 24 L. Endurance is tabulated as 300 minutes with a 25 kg payload, while the descriptive specification states more than 300 minutes at that load. Range exceeds 1000 km with a 1.2 kg payload.
The D55 cruises at 100–160 km/h and has a minimum circling radius of 200 m. Its maximum level-flight ceiling is 3000 m with a 10 kg payload, making that altitude specification specific to the stated loading. Environmental limits comprise Force 6 wind resistance, protection for moderate rain and an operating temperature range of −20 °C to 55 °C. The aircraft architecture provides space for varied mission equipment, with the independent payload compartment and fuel-inclusive payload allowance defining key integration constraints.
