SwellPro SplashDrone 3+ is a discontinued waterproof drone base platform intended for fishing, filming, boating, and search and rescue configurations. Configuration choices included an optional PL3 waterproof payload-release unit with live video and HD FPV recording, plus extra propellers and aircraft or remote-control batteries. The aircraft supports surface flotation, with exposure at depths up to 600 mm limited to short periods. Its maximum payload is 1 kg, and its approximate maximum flight weight is 3 kg.
The platform uses a Swellpro S3 flight controller, GPS/GLONASS positioning and #1242 quick-fit carbon-fiber propellers. Aircraft weight is 1447 g without the battery. Its specified 4S 15.2 V, 5200 mAh LiHV battery weighs 561 g and has a charging time of 90 minutes. Maximum flight time is 20–23 minutes per charge. Maximum flight speed is 20 m/s in ATTI mode, while maximum flight altitude is 200 m in GPS mode or 1.3 km in ATTI mode. The operating temperature range is -10°C to 40°C.
The 10-channel remote control has a specified range of 1.6 km under unobstructed, interference-free conditions. The video system operates at 5645–5965 MHz across 40 channels, with a maximum transmission range of 1.6 km and a 5-inch display with 800 × 480-pixel resolution. Wind limits for flight distinguish a typical maximum of 8 m/s from typical peak gusts of 12 m/s. SplashDrone 3+ has been discontinued and will not become available again.
