The Tattu 16000mAh 12S 15C is a smart battery pack for medium and large UAVs. Typical uses include agricultural crop protection, security, surveying and mapping, power-line inspection, and aerial filming. It is supplied as a battery pack only, not as an aircraft or airframe. The pack is rated at 16000mAh and 44.4V, with a 12S1P cell configuration, for 710.4Wh of energy. It has a 15C discharge rate and a 30C maximum instantaneous discharge. Maximum continuous discharge current is 100A. Peak discharge current is 150A for less than 3 seconds. The pack weighs 4141g (±20g).
For physical integration, the pack measures 217mm high (±2mm), 150mm wide (±2mm) and 80mm thick (±5mm). Power runs through 8# wire on a 230mm discharge lead (±2mm) that ends in an AS150U plug. The smart battery system handles data collection, safety alerts, power calculation, automatic balancing, charge reminders, abnormal-state alarms, data transmission and history checks. Battery status and operating history can be read through a CAN/SMBus communication interface with PC software. To check remaining capacity while the pack is powered off, hold the button for at least 5 seconds. Four LEDs then show the charge level, in bands from 88–100% down to below 12%.
The recommended charging temperature is +10°C to +45°C, and the recommended discharging temperature is +10°C to +60°C. Maximum charge voltage is 4.2V per cell. The recommended landing voltage is 43.2V (3.6V per cell), and the recommended forced-landing voltage is 42.6V (3.55V per cell). Three colored LEDs show warning states. Orange means the charge is low and the pack needs charging. White marks a level I warning, when the battery is not in normal use. Red marks a level II warning, when the battery must not be used any further. Red and white lit together mean a battery error. Flashing or steady lights indicate over-temperature and cell-imbalance warnings.
