Product overview
The EV-PEAK AR1 is a multi-function intelligent balance charger and discharger. It is listed as suitable for UAV, FPV, helicopter, large-aircraft, robot, car and general RC battery applications. It runs on 11-18V DC input and charges at up to 500W and 25A, with a 400mA balance current. Its discharge ratings are much lower, at a maximum of 30W and 5A. Supported battery chemistries are LiPo, LiFe, NiMH, NiCd and Pb. The 25A maximum charge current is intended for uses such as RC helicopters and large-capacity battery packs for small boats.
The unit measures 102*120*46mm and weighs 450g. You operate it through a monochrome touch screen that can be read in direct sunlight. To choose a charging mode, you change the values with a finger. The display shows battery capacity, battery voltage and internal resistance. It can also graph individual cell voltages, internal resistance and changes in the voltage curve during charging, so you can check pack condition at a glance. Up to 20 sets of charge/discharge parameters can be saved and reloaded, so settings do not have to be entered again for repeat jobs.
The charger includes several protection systems. It guards against over-load, over-current, over-voltage, over-charging, short circuits and reverse polarity. It also has a built-in diagnostics checker chip and discharge protection. A temperature sensor works with the charging algorithm to protect batteries against damage and over-charging.
