Product overview
The RadioMaster ERS-BA01 is a barometric sensor that supplies real-time relative-altitude telemetry through compatible ExpressLRS receivers to an EdgeTX radio. It converts atmospheric pressure measurements into altitude information and has an altitude accuracy of ±0.5m. Connection to supported ExpressLRS PWM receivers uses CRSF. The supplied configuration comprises one ERS-BA01 sensor, three heat-shrinkable tubes and a manual QR code card. Its function is to add altitude monitoring to a compatible receiver and radio installation.
The sensor measures 23.5 × 13 × 7mm and weighs 3.5g, providing compact dimensions for installation planning. Its operating voltage is 5–8.4V, operating current is 9mA, and temperature range is –10 ℃ to +85 ℃. Input and output ports support pass-through expansion by daisy-chaining additional ERS sensors. Plug-and-play receiver options are the ER6 and ER8 2.4GHz ExpressLRS PWM receivers and the ER8G and ER8GV ExpressLRS PWM receivers. Other receiver installations may require the UART configuration or optional adapter described below.
PWM ExpressLRS receivers without a dedicated UART port require two PWM outputs to be reassigned as serial TX and RX. Configuration uses either the receiver Web UI, accessed with the receiver in WiFi mode, or the ExpressLRS LUA script; remaining PWM channels stay usable for servos or ESCs. Receivers with only standard servo pins can use an optional cable converting the sensor UART connector to two servo plugs. Configuring the sensor and viewing telemetry on EdgeTX requires the RadioMaster Sensor Configurator LUA, which also supports settings adjustment and post-flight data logging.
