Product overview
The RadioLink RC8X is a pistol-grip radio control system for model vehicles, boats and robots. Its steering wheel and throttle trigger work alongside assignable rotary switches, pushbuttons, trim buttons and an encoder. A 4.3-inch, 800 × 480 color IPS capacitive touchscreen provides parameter adjustment, supported by a Cortex-A processor and an RTOS. The wheel can be configured for left- or right-hand operation, with adjustable return force. Throttle-trigger position and brake travel are adjustable, while model storage accommodates 200 models and 16 sub-ID datasets.
The RC8X supplies eight channels, with expansion to sixteen requiring firmware V1.3.5 and an R16F receiver recommended. It offers eight programmable mixes and nine configurable mixing functions, including four-wheel steering. Integration provisions include an RF module interface, simulator and head-tracking connections, a headphone socket and an FPV screen bracket mounting point. The touchscreen serves as a parameter display as supplied; FPV viewing requires an added 5.8G receiver module. Memory expansion supports up to 64G, and the package includes a 32GB SD card.
The supplied R8FG receiver combines a drift-car gyro, high-voltage servo support, PWM/PPM/SBUS outputs and IPX4 splash protection. Its battery-voltage telemetry supports up to 8S (33.6 V) through the included lead. Servo response settings are 14 ms for analog servos and 4 ms or 3 ms for digital servos; fast-response operation requires firmware V1.1.5 or later, FHSS V2 selected and an R8FG labeled V2.1. Transmitter power options include 6S NiMH, 2S–4S lithium, eight AAA cells or Type-C. An external RF module limits lithium supply to 3S; Type-C input must not exceed 5.5 V.
