The Kitefly FC30 from Nanjing Airfly Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. provides tethered power for a DJI carrier drone through an onboard converter, a tether cable and a ground tether box. The onboard unit replaces one 11.5 kg drone battery with a 10.8 ±0.2 kg power supply. Its installation envelope is 468 × 308 × 142 ±0.5 mm, excluding the handle and connectors. Electrical integration uses an LP20 input, a battery interface, XT90 and two XT60 outputs, with regulated 59 Vdc ±1% output and voltage customization available.
The ground box requires 380 VAC ±10%, three-phase, five-wire power at 50 Hz and delivers adjustable 600–800 Vdc, factory-set to 800 Vdc. The standard tether is 220 m long, with a 330 m option; winding speed and tension adjust in steps over 0–3 m/s and 0–20 N. Cable construction combines heat-resistant alloy copper wire, composite fluoropolymer insulation and a high-modulus aerospace-grade fiber braid. Fiber-optic communication and an FC optical connector are optional. Ground controls include high-voltage switching, emergency winding and a backup-power switch.
The onboard supply carries an IP54 rating, while the ground box is rated IPx4. Operation is specified at -20 to 45°C, 10–80% RH and an altitude of ≤3000 m; storage ranges are -40 to 65°C and 5–90% RH. The ground box weighs 54 ±0.5 kg without the tether cable. The transport configuration uses a wheeled flight case measuring 850 × 740 × 600 ±5 mm excluding wheels, with a packed mass of 115 ±5 kg including the tether box, onboard supply, accessories and documentation.
