The DLE430 is a propulsion engine, not a complete aircraft or an airframe kit. It is a twin-cylinder, inline two-stroke engine for unmanned aircraft and ultralight experimental aircraft. It has a 70 mm bore and a 56 mm stroke, for a displacement of 430.8 cc. Rated output is 42 HP at 6800 RPM. Maximum speed is 7000 RPM and idle is 1000 RPM. The propeller is driven through a 2.55 reduction ratio, and the recommended propeller is a 1.5 m variable-pitch carbon-fiber unit. Static thrust is 110 kg. The engine turns clockwise when viewed facing the propeller.
The engine runs on 93 or 97 grade gasoline, premixed at 50:1 with fully synthetic 2T FD-grade oil. The gearbox takes its own gear oil, specified as 85W-140EP, API GL-5/GL-6, SAE 140 EP. Fuel is fed by a DLE self-aspirating carburetor, and the engine is fan-cooled. The compression ratio is 11:1 theoretical and 6.5:1 actual. The specified spark plug is a 14 mm DLE-8, gapped at 0.6 mm.
On the electrical side, the engine uses a dual-set DC capacitor-discharge ignition system. Each set runs on a 12 V supply and is rated at 5 W. A permanent-magnet generator supplies 14.5 V at 90 W, and the starter motor draws 35 A. The main engine weighs 27 kg and the exhaust pipe weighs 4.1 kg, for a total weight of 32.25 kg.
