The MAD Components X4229 IPE V1.0 (short shaft) is a propulsion motor intended for eVTOL airplane drones, with endurance flight and demanding operating conditions as its stated design focus. It comes in 230KV and 420KV options, with a stated maximum thrust of 7.7 kg. The motor has an anticorrosive stator, centrifugal heat dissipation and an IP35 protection rating. Its water and dust resistance should be understood within that rating, rather than as unrestricted protection in severe environments.
For installation, the motor measures 50 mm in diameter by 60.5 mm and has a specified internal shaft diameter of 6 mm. Propeller attachment uses a 20 mm mounting pattern with four M3 holes, or an M8 nut; motor mounting patterns are 30, 56 and 60 mm, each with four M4 holes. The cable is 110 mm long and uses black 14 AWG silicone wire. The winding wire and magnets have respective temperature ratings of 180°C and 150°C; these are component ratings, not stated ambient operating limits.
