Holybro AS1318C Digital Airspeed Sensor

By Holybro ↗

The Holybro AS1318C Airspeed Sensor provides airspeed readings through Ardupilot and PX4 configuration workflows. Setup requires a software-specific parameter setting and restart. Calibration is required for accurate readings, while complete Ardupilot configuration and calibration are available only in the fixed-wing airframe configuration.

Product overview

The Holybro AS1318C Airspeed Sensor provides airspeed readings within a flight-controller setup, with configuration procedures for Ardupilot and PX4. For Ardupilot, setup takes place in MissionPlanner: set ARSPD_TYPE to 1, write the parameters, and power cycle the flight controller. Airspeed data should then appear on the main interface or in the status list. Complete configuration and calibration are available only in the fixed-wing airframe configuration, which constrains the Ardupilot setup workflow.

For PX4, the sensor is enabled through QGC using SENS_EN_MS4525DO. After enabling that setting, reboot the vehicle or power cycle the flight controller; the airspeed reading should then appear on the main interface. Calibration is required for accurate readings. Integration therefore includes both the software-specific parameter setting and the prescribed restart, with calibration also necessary when preparing the sensor to provide accurate airspeed information.
