The DJI Mini 3 is a folding camera aircraft for aerial photography and video. Its integrated imaging assembly combines a 48 MP, 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, a 24 mm equivalent f/1.7 lens and a three-axis mechanical gimbal. Recording options include 4K video at up to 30 fps and photographs up to 8064 × 6048 pixels. Its folded footprint is 148 × 90 × 62 mm without propellers, expanding to 251 × 362 × 72 mm with propellers. The flight aircraft has factory-installed propellers.

Controller and recording-media choices shape the working configuration. DJI RC-N1 connects with a mobile device, while the DJI RC screen controller operates without a separate mobile device. Live streaming through DJI Fly requires RC-N1 and a mobile device; DJI RC does not support it. The aircraft has no onboard memory and accepts storage cards up to 512GB, but bundles exclude the card. Standard takeoff weight is 248 g including the Intelligent Flight Battery, propellers and microSD card; actual weight can vary with component batches.

Maximum flight time is 38 minutes with the Intelligent Flight Battery or 51 minutes with the Plus battery. These wind-tunnel figures use equivalent sea-level, windless conditions, photo mode and forward flight at 21.6 km/h until depletion and forced landing; environment, use and firmware affect results. The Plus battery raises weight to approximately 290 g and lowers maximum takeoff altitude to 3000 m from 4000 m. Do not add propeller guards or other extra loads with that battery. Downward positioning requires textured, diffusely reflective surfaces with reflectivity above 20% and illumination above 15 lux.
