The DJI Mavic Mini is a folding camera flight platform supplied with a remote controller with removable sticks. Its airframe measures 140×81×57 mm when folded, 159×202×55 mm unfolded and 245×289×55 mm unfolded with propellers. A three-axis mechanical gimbal supports the 1/2.3-inch CMOS camera, which provides 12 million effective pixels and records 2.7K video at up to 30p. The lens combines an 83° field of view, 24 mm equivalent focal length and f/2.8 aperture, with focus extending from 1 m to infinity.

Mobile device integration centers on DJI Fly and a controller holder accommodating devices up to 160 mm long and 6.5–8.5 mm thick. Supported connections are Lightning, Micro USB (Type-B) and USB Type-C. Enhanced Wi-Fi provides a 720p/30fps live view, with 170–240 ms latency depending on the shooting environment and mobile device. Recording requires a microSD card because the aircraft has no onboard storage. Radio frequencies and transmission distances vary by hardware variant and regional standard; 5.8 GHz is automatically disabled in specified regions, including Japan and Russia.

Maximum flight time is 30 minutes in windless conditions at a constant 14 km/h; numerical specifications were measured with the latest firmware. Downward sensing supports precise hovering over 0.5–10 m with discernible, diffusely reflecting surfaces, reflectivity above 20% and illumination above 15 lux. The aircraft lacks waterproofing and obstacle avoidance. Installing all-around propeller guards reduces maximum takeoff altitude to 1500 m and limits windless speed to 8 m/s, flight height to 30 m and flight distance to 50 m.
