DJI Matrice 4D is a drone designed for use with DJI Dock 3, an unattended operating platform that also supports the Matrice 4TD. Dock 3 is DJI's first unattended platform to support vehicle-mounted mobile deployment, giving the integrated system a mobile deployment option. The Matrice 4D Series carries cameras from the same lineage as the Matrice 4 Series, with improved flight and protection performance relative to that series.
The Matrice 4D can also operate separately from the dock when paired with a DJI RC Plus 2 industry-version remote controller. Software-supported intelligent features for the dock-based system are intended to reduce operating time and labor costs. Civilian application contexts for the broader Dock 3 system include surveying, power grids, renewable energy, firefighting and emergency response, environmental protection, forestry, water management and construction.
