DJI Avata

By DJI ↗

DJI Avata is a compact camera-equipped flight platform with goggles-based operation, a 155° lens and a single-axis pitch gimbal. The approximately 410 g aircraft records up to 4K/60fps and includes 20GB of internal storage. Product sets exclude a charger and memory card; downward sensing has controller, flight-mode, surface and lighting requirements.

Product overview

DJI Avata is a camera-equipped flight platform for aerial photography and video recording with goggles-based viewing. The QF2W4K aircraft weighs approximately 410 g at takeoff and measures 180 × 180 × 80 mm, with a 120 mm diagonal wheelbase. Its imaging assembly combines a 1/1.7-inch sensor with 12 million effective pixels, a fixed-focus 155° lens and a single-axis pitch gimbal. Both DJI Goggles 2 and DJI FPV Goggles V2 configurations support recording at up to 4K/60fps.

The aircraft, goggles and remote-control equipment connect to provide flight control and image transmission. DJI Fly is required for activation and firmware updates. The aircraft includes 20GB of internal storage and accepts microSD cards up to 256GB; without a card, recordings default to internal storage. Product sets include a USB-C to USB-C PD charging cable but exclude a charger and memory card. The aircraft and goggles support PD fast charging, while the motion controller does not.

Maximum hover endurance is approximately 18 minutes without wind or interference. Downward sensing combines binocular vision and ToF, with obstacle sensing restricted to N and S modes using DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 or DJI Motion Controller. Visual operation requires discernible surface texture, diffuse reflection above 20% and illumination above 15 lux. RockSteady and HorizonSteady electronic stabilization can be disabled. Tilt correction supports recorded footage but does not correct the live view, and the transmission system does not support audio.
