Product overview

DJI Avata 2 is an FPV camera aircraft for immersive flying and image capture. Its approximately 377 g body measures 185 × 212 × 64 mm and incorporates integrated propeller guards. A single-axis mechanical pitch gimbal carries a camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and 155° field of view; controllable pitch extends from -85° to 80°. Recording options include 4K video, Normal and D-Log M color modes, and RockSteady 3.0+ or HorizonSteady stabilization. Binocular fisheye vision supports downward and rearward positioning in Normal and Sport modes, but the aircraft does not provide obstacle avoidance.

Operation requires DJI Goggles 3 and either DJI RC Motion 3 or DJI FPV Remote Controller 3; Manual mode requires the latter. Internal storage is 46GB, with SD card storage also supported. The approximately 23-minute maximum flight time uses wind-tunnel conditions at equivalent sea level without wind, brake response selected, the camera in photo mode, and forward flight at 21.6 km/h until battery depletion and forced landing. Effective sensing requires diffusely reflective, richly textured surfaces with reflectivity above 20% and illumination above 15 lux. Battery charging is supported through the aircraft’s USB-C port or a charging hub.
