The Autel Robotics Dragonfish Standard DF-S3 is the dock variant of the Dragonfish Standard aircraft, distinct from the conventional DF-S1. Autel describes its tilting-wingtip design as combining vertical takeoff and landing with fixed-wing flight for tasks including power-line inspection, energy inspection, forest fire prevention and emergency management. The manufacturer specifies a maximum takeoff weight of 9 kg and a maximum payload of 1.3 kg for the Standard platform. Compatible payloads are the Huiyan T5, T5L and L20T gimbals, fitted through a quick-release E-type mount.

Autel offers the Dragonfish dock as optional equipment combining automatic takeoff and landing, battery swapping and a weather-monitoring station. Its described workflow uses remote management to dispatch missions, after which the aircraft automatically leaves the dock to perform inspections or patrols. An optional Dragonfish relay can operate with the dock to extend communications and support takeoff and landing at different locations. The relay combines directional and omnidirectional antennas, a relay base station, 4G communications and solar power; its solar and UPS arrangement supports deployment without an external electricity connection.

Autel specifies a maximum range of 108 km for the Standard dock variant with either T5/T5L or L20T payloads. Its claimed maximum Standard endurance is 100 minutes with the T5, measured at sea level while flying continuously forward at 8 m/s until 0% battery, with no wind or other flight interference, obstacle avoidance set to braking and the camera taking photographs only. Autel describes waypoint missions, target tracking and manual takeover among the flight-control functions. Automatic return after communication loss requires GNSS reception; without GNSS, the described landing protection instead initiates descent from the aircraft's current position.
