Shanghai Electric Group’s Shanghai Generator Works supplies power generation equipment and is expanding into aviation and the low-altitude economy, drawing on its motor research, development and manufacturing capabilities. Its aviation hardware comprises two core product families: integrated starter-generator units for aircraft engines and propulsion motors for large eVTOL aircraft. The intended civilian applications span UAVs with long-distance transport requirements, civil passenger aircraft and heavy-payload unmanned aircraft.
The aircraft-engine starter-generator range covers 300 kW to 1000 kW and includes permanent-magnet and electrically excited designs. These units are intended for UAVs requiring long-distance transport and for civil passenger aircraft. The propulsion motor range covers 100 kW to 250 kW, with applications in heavy-payload UAVs using compound-wing or tiltrotor configurations. Its featured exhibit is a 250 kW-class electric drive system for eVTOL propulsion motors.
