Jiangsu WeLion New Energy Battery Co.,LTD specializes in solid-state battery research, development, production and sales. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Beijing, WeLion is the industrialization platform for solid-state battery technology developed by the Clean Energy Laboratory of the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Its work covers battery materials, cells and systems, with development focused on mixed solid-liquid and all-solid-state batteries. Civilian applications include new energy vehicles, energy storage, drones and electric vessels.
For aerial applications, WeLion's exhibited hardware includes semi-solid-state UAV batteries with a stated energy density of 350 Wh/kg or more, intended to support longer flight duration for UAV and eVTOL applications. Its broader development priorities include high energy density, safety, high power, a wide operating temperature range and long service life. The company has seven production bases or research and development operations in Beijing Fangshan, Jiangsu Liyang, Zhejiang Huzhou, Shandong Zibo, Zhejiang Shaoxing, Shenzhen Pingshan and the Guangzhou Development Zone.
