Jiangsu Reliance Energy Tech. Co., Ltd. is based in Jiangsu Province, China, and develops and manufactures high-power, high-energy-density tabless cylindrical lithium-ion batteries. Its hardware range spans the 21700 and 46 series, including INR21700-RS40, INR21700-RS50, INR21700-RS60 and INR21700-RH60. The company provides energy solutions for civilian applications including drones, eVTOL aircraft, robots and automated guided vehicles, as well as power tools, electric motorcycles and bicycles, construction and agricultural machinery, garden and cleaning tools, BBU and sports cars.
The INR21700-RS40 is a purple NCA cell measuring 21 × 70 mm, with a tabless design and specified internal resistance of 3 mΩ. Its discharge specifications include 40 A continuous operation without temperature cutoff, support for 70 A continuous discharge and 70C pulse discharge lasting seconds. Charging specifications include continuous 3.5C charging, support for up to 10C charging and a stated 0–80% state-of-charge time of 10 minutes. Its operating temperature ranges are −40 to +80 °C for discharge and −20 to +60 °C for charging.
The INR21700-RS40's cycle-life figures depend on the charging conditions. At 25 °C and 100% state of charge, the specified capacity retention is 80% after 1,000 cycles with 8 A charging and 40 A discharging. With the same temperature, state of charge and discharge current, but a higher 14 A charging current, the specified retention is 80% after 600 cycles.
