Chengdu Sechin Advanced Material Science & Technology Co., Ltd. is a new materials company founded in 2016 in Sichuan, China. It combines research, manufacturing and sales of PBO fiber, offering filament, chopped fiber, staple fiber, pulp, fabrics and customized products. Its processing capabilities include fiber modification, surface treatment, weaving and textile processing. Alongside these basic materials, the company develops electromagnetic shielding sleeving, composite prepregs, and fiber cords and ropes for UAV applications including structural components, electromagnetic protection, load tethering and dynamic towing.
The company's XCFBT Series PBO EMI shielding sleeving is precision-braided from metal-coated PBO fibers. Its surface treatment improves bonding between the fibers and the metal coating, which is applied through a dual-layer physical metal deposition process. Model XCFBT101-3-8 has a 5 mm sleeve diameter and a silver-white finish. The series offers a stated weight reduction of 60%–80% compared with metal shielding sleeves and shielding effectiveness of at least 50 dB within the 30–1000 MHz frequency band. It is intended to reduce electromagnetic interference affecting UAV signals and equipment operation.
Chengdu Sechin's PBO prepregs combine PBO fiber reinforcement with a suitable resin matrix and come in unidirectional and plain weave forms. Applications include UAV fuselage frames, propeller blades, landing gear and casings, using the material's lightweight strength, shear and impact resistance, and energy absorption. Its PBO cord and rope range includes braided, stranded, composite-reinforced and special-function types produced through weaving and twisting. These products combine high strength and modulus with low elongation and resistance to heat, bending and fatigue for UAV load tethering and dynamic towing.
